enterprise task 1

What skills/interests do i have and how do they relate to the needs of my client group?
Hopefully the client group that i hope to work with will allow me to have the freedom to be experimental with my outcomes. I hope to work either as the graphic designer for a magazine company or to work within a studio environment mainly focussing on the publishing and editorial side of graphic design. I feel my conceptual thinking is strong, coming up with strong innovative concepts for design work, which is why i feel i would work best working for a company/design studio with an interest in contemporary design allowing me to be experimental with the processes behind the design work and the overall finished aesthetics of finished outcomes. This would relate to the client group by providing them with contemporary graphic design work which would fit the target audience. My growing knowledge of typography would be another one of my skills, being focussed on image for most of my practice and only just deciding to change to working with type, my knowledge of type is not as strong as others in the year group at this moment, however with my ever growing interest and practice with working with type I am starting to produce some really nice pieces of type driven outcomes. My on going improvement of my type skills is essential if i would like to focus on working with publishing.

What Skills are needed and what skills do you want to develop?
Typography, as i said previously my knowledge of typography could be improved massively, which would be very essential if i hope to pursue the carear of working with publishing and editorial design. My interest with typography is constantly growing and i feel with the on going constant practice as well as research my skills and knowledge of typography will soon be ready for industry.

What are your professional/creative aims and how do they relate to the needs of the client group?
Get as much industry experience, look into sorting out placements and studio visits at studios that interest me, to help me see what is out their in terms of where i could take my design work and gain a strong focus on what area of design i would like to focus on as a designer. Also to self promote myself as much as possible in order to get my name out there, try to get commissioned work over summer to see what it would be like working as a graphic designer. All just things to help me sort out what i should do with my life.
