enterprise task 1

The area that i am most interested in focussing on within my graphic design practice would be publishing, looking at creating visuals for magazines and booklet covers aswel as going into the editorial side of it and designing the overal layout of magazines with this in mind working mainly with design for print however trying to someway incorporate screen based media for outcomes. Working within in a graphic design studio creating a vast range of work for clients however mainly focussing on publishing. or being the graphic designer for a magazine company both allowing freedom for experimental, innovative design work. It is just quite hard to but a pin in where i want to take my focus within graphic design being that i have only recently moved from illustration to gain an interest in graphic design, although i know it would hopefully lie within the publishing side being that recently I have gained a growing interest in the field.
My main inspiration for focussing on this area of design would come from design studios such as 'studio laucke siebein' in Netherlands, 'Say-what' in france and a magazine editors in spain which always features modern experimental design 'Jpeople'. Each of these studios produce the type of work that i can see myself doing when i graduate, and are definitely places i should contact for studio visits.

studio laucke siebein
Probably one of my favourite design studio at the minute, ran by 3 graphic design graduates in Netherlands receives a huge range of commissioned work in almost every client group focussing mainly on magazine and book design however it seems they are allowed complete freedom for experimentation with their outcomes.

Say what
Another design studio in France which focusses mainly on publishing and editorial design for their work produced. Always keeping up to date with modern design and show this with their outcomes.

J people
This is not strictly a graphic design studio but somewhere i could definitely see myself working later on in life, working somewhere like this. Jpeople, is a magazine company that all work together in a studio environment from editors to writers to graphic designers, being part of the graphic design team for this type of company would be a really interesting roll, allowing you to be completely experimental with your outcomes, giving yourself pretty much complete freedom with the design work and keep up to date with contemporary design.
